I'm not gonna lie. It's great to receive credit for something. Especially when you work really hard. I like it, it feels good. Yet, if that is what drives you, you're not going to get very far because it's never nearly enough. What I am discovering is that true leaders really could care less about who gets the credit for something. A good leader is never after the glory. In fact true leaders never find their thrill or contentment from others telling them how great they are. Instead joy and excitement are birthed when the group/body/followers/team....(whatever you call it )is benefiting/thriving/growing.
For instance, it's nice to hear people tell me after a Rendezvous service, "Rich you are a great preacher. Best I ever heard (lol)." Sure I appreciate that. Still, it doesn't even compare with the excitement I get when I see our church growing. Or when people start running with and spreading the dream. At the end of the day that is what I love. Real leaders don't care about credit, they simply long to see the mission/vision spread. In my own life I am constantly checking myself. Am I doing this for credit or for the mission? If glory is what I am after I will never be the leader God has destined me to be and neither will you.
Good post bro!

Hey Dude,
I live in a real world. I'm saved just like you.
Praise God
However I learned a long time ago, that Statements of denial will never yield true honesty.
We all as human beings deserve and appreciate a "Thank You" and words of appreciation every now and then. The Bible says honor those that labor among you. My dad told me 25 years ago that 'working people and never acknowledging them publicly is not only brutal but abusive' so stop the nonsense!
Get some class about you, and not only should you say "thank you" to those that labor with you but publicly acknowledge them, and show your thankfulness and appreciation by presenting them with a token of even a small gift!. Did they teach you that in bible school or anywhere else? You missed something very important. Honor those that labor among you, they don't have to be there, there's a lot of other things they could be doing besides helping you with the vision God has given to you, so stay humble, take your head out of the clouds, humble yourself, you are what you are because they helped to make you! Without them you would not be you. It is biblical to share the glory(praise or splendor) of an achievement. Try not glorifying your wife and tell us what happens. By the same principal we respect and appreciate others working with us side by side.
Honor them,Because the Bible Says so!

Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance.
