Life is as it seems a process. It's a journey. So often we are unsatisfied with our current place in life. However, its in that place that you are being prepared for the next place. Too often we miss the chance to enjoy our current surrounding because we are so focused on getting to our next destination.
I had a friend in jr. high who was having some problems. He ended up going to the Dr. for a diagnosis. After many different tests; both physically and psychologically, the Dr. claimed the issue he was having had to do with the fact that my friend had missed his crawling stage. Apparently, my buddy when he was young started walking to soon. Some of the problems he was having was because he had missed a crucial stage of childhood...crawling.
Who knew crawling was such an important thing. You see life is a continual growth process. We sit up, we crawl, we walk, we run. There are different stages. Our dreams and our passions really operate the same way. The only problem is our ambition and drive want them to be running and jumping even though they were just born. Give yourself some time. Enjoy the process before you kill yourself lol. Your dreams will happen just be willing to let them grow.
Philippians 4:11-13
11I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
I love this verse!! Paul writes it beautifully here! So many times in my life I want the next “big job” or next "big thing" to happen. I think as Christians we should always dream big and want God to do awesome things because he definitely can do that! But the difficulty comes when we’re focusing so much on our future that we miss out on the things that he has for us in our present!
Also the song Hosanna written by Brooke Fraser of Hillsong that says "Open up my eyes to the things unseen". So many times God is ready to move in our life but it’s hard for him to move in his timing because we’re so caught up in focusing on our own timing!!
This has been a great reminder to cherish this day (hence why it’s called the “Present” because it is a gift!!) and focus on the blessings and opportunities that we have right in front of us!
